When all we have left is our attitude

“We cannot change our past. We can not change the fact that people act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.” Chuck Swidoll

Our attitude is something we will always have even when we have nothing left. Imagine losing everything and having to start over. As Swindoll says, we only have one string left. Many chose to sit in the pity party of life and refuse to play the one string they have left.   Others play the string with the depressing melody of failure and the familiar tune "woe with me".

Other chose to take the one thing they have left, that one string called attitude and create a positive melody. From that one string of a positive attitude men and women have pulled themselves up and forward. If all we have left is our attitude we MUST chose to focus all our efforts on creating a positive mind set to move forward.

To those who are viewed as successful by the world they may choose to put the one string that helped create their success in deep storage.  They now play the strings of money, power, success, and recognition.  With all these trappings of success they forget that it was their attitude at the basis of all this success.

Imagine if we all played the single string of a positive attitude as our primary instrument of life, what a beautiful symphony of service and and true success we could achieve together.  In my life I have found that when I chose not to be in constant contact with this one string called attitude, my life starts to get a little out of tune.  Today, not matter what your situation is chose to never let go of the one string you will always have, your attitude, and choose to make a melody that encourages those around you to want to listen in.
